Key Takeaways:

• VEER and House of Botswana have launched “The Diamond & Delta Tours,” an immersive, invite-only program designed to connect jewelry industry professionals with the origin and ethics of Botswana’s diamonds.

• The tour provides behind-the-scenes access to the diamond value chain, including visits to major mines like Orapa or Jwaneng and sorting facilities at the Diamond Trading Company Botswana.

• The initiative aims to position Botswana’s natural diamonds as a global benchmark for ethical luxury, emphasizing transparency, traceability, and their positive impact on national infrastructure and communities.

(NEW YORK, NY) — VEER, a leading New York-based wholesale natural diamond and jewellery manufacturing company, today announced a strategic collaboration with House of Botswana and VEER’S appointment as a business Ambassador.

The Government of Botswana’s flagship platform championing the nation’s natural diamond leadership on the global stage. The partnership will launch with an inaugural, invite-only immersive experience: The Diamond & Delta Tours

Designed exclusively for a curated group of jewellery industry professionals — spanning independent retailers, designers and buying group members — The Diamond & Delta Tours is a first-of-its-kind, multi-day journey into the heart of Botswana’s diamond country. The experience is conceived to connect industry insiders directly to the origin, ethics, and extraordinary natural beauty that underpin the world’s most storied diamonds.

VEER HOUSE OF BOTSWAN Veer Announces Landmark Collaboration With House Of Botswana

Guests will be taken behind the scenes of the entire Botswana diamond value chain: from the world-renowned sorting and valuing halls of the Diamond Trading Company Botswana (DTCB) and the Okavango Diamond Company (ODC), to the working face of either the Orapa or Jwaneng mines — two of the most significant diamond operations on earth. The programme also includes a formal courtesy visit to the Ministry of Minerals and Energy, led by the Honourable Minister Bogolo Joy Kenewendo, as well as one-on-one sessions with Botswana’s leading local jewellery designers and artisans.

Beyond the diamond industry, guests will experience Botswana in its full, breathtaking dimension. The itinerary includes a private excursion to the Chobe Game Reserve or the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Okavango Delta — one of the world’s great natural wonders — with activities including game drives, sunset Chobe River cruises, mokoro canoe rides, and dinner under the stars.

“A trip to Botswana will change the way we look at natural diamonds. Provenance is important more than ever and transparency in our sourcing is the only way to educate and align with the new age natural diamond buyer. Once you visit the mines, You will walk away with stories to last a lifetime”

Kaushal Shah, VEER

The collaboration aligns with House of Botswana’s national mandate to position Botswana’s natural diamonds as the global benchmark for ethical luxury — traceable, purposeful, and deeply human in their impact. VEER, itself committed to 100% natural diamonds and transparent supply chains, views the programme as a natural extension of its core values and a powerful tool for independent retailers seeking to tell a more compelling provenance story to their customers.

The Diamond & Delta Tours will be a recurring programme, with future editions planned to welcome new cohorts of jewellery industry guests each year. Invitations for the inaugural tour are extended by VEER Diamonds. For inquiries please contact Rachel Kudlick at rachel@veer.diamonds.

NRF Chief Economist weighs in on inflation and its impact on retail

(WASHINGTON) – Inflation is at a 40-year high but isn’t hitting all consumers as hard as top-line numbers might suggest, National Retail Federation (NRF) Chief Economist Jack Kleinhenz said yesterday. Nonetheless, consumer worries about rising prices could become self-fulfilling if workers demand higher wages to compensate and will play a role in the Federal Reserve’s efforts to bring inflation under control. “After decades of relatively low levels, inflation is on everyone’s mind and has been making consumers and businesses miserable as prices have picked up dramatically over the past year,” Kleinhenz said. “However you measure it, inflation has become a powerful force and plays a key role in the nation’s economic outlook.” “While actual price gains are expected to slow down in the coming months as they lap relatively high readings from the year before, the Fed is concerned about the risk of an unwanted jump in inflation expectations,” Kleinhenz said. “If consumers expect rampant i...

The Story Behind the Stone: Metal Mashup

Reading Time: 6 minutes I have to confess I just learned about electrum when this topic crawled up on my radar. We love the wide range of jewelry metals today that give consumers tremendous options for creating the exact piece of their dreams. Metal alloys are some of the more exciting variations for imaginative jewelry designers to work with. These options better reflect the tastes of a client and help them to personalize their jewelry, making it truly unique to them. Brooch with a griffin, from the necropolis of Kameiros, Rhodes, c.  625–600 BC (Louvre). Natural Alloy One topic catching my eye at the moment is a rare and naturally occurring metal alloy – electrum. This word, electrum may be uncommon to modern society, but it’s a Latin word derived from the Greek electron mentioned in the Odyssey referring to a metallic substance consisting of gold alloyed with silver. Electrum was usually called white gold in antiquity. But more accurately it was described as pale gold since ...

Botswana’s ODC Halts All Rough Sales

Okavango Diamond Company (ODC) has halted all rough sales as global demand remains at record low levels. It says it has cancelled its November auction and may do likewise in December. “For the first time, we have had to build up inventory as we do not want to just irresponsibly release goods into a market […] The post Botswana’s ODC Halts All Rough Sales appeared first on The Jewelry Magazine . from The Jewelry Magazine https://ift.tt/ulKAeoZ
