In late September of this year, a car crashed through the front door of Stall Jewelers, doing massive damage to the store and injuring Norma Stall. Norma and her husband, Eric are owners of the Round Rock, Texas store.
The couple got to work on a huge remodeling and renovation project, and was able to reopen in time for the Christmas season. To promote the reopening, they worked with jewelry store marketing veteran James Porte of Porte Marketing to create an ad campaign. Using humor in the campaign, the Stalls and Porte were able to create a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.
The ad campaign, created by Porte Marketing, produced a huge amount of customer calls, in-store visits and sales. “ People have come in on that ad, and called. It’s working like a charm. You’re an advertising genius,” Eric told James.
“We wanted to create an ad that got people talking,” Porte said.
