Zillion announces 2022 Women in STEM Scholarship recipient

(PALO ALTO, Calif.) – Zillion is excited to announce Ms. Alisa Garcia is the 2022 recipient of the Zillion Women in STEM Scholarship. Garcia, a computer science major at Purdue University, was among an overwhelming list of highly qualified and impressive applicants who demonstrated a passion and commitment to STEM. She was selected for her undaunted ability to meet challenges, and for being a role model to young women interested in STEM.

As an InsurTech focused on Personal Jewelry Insurance, Zillion created the Zillion Women in STEM Scholarship to aid and empower women to enter into the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math. The academic scholarship awarded by Zillion is designed to cover a portion of tuition costs for a female student majoring in a STEM discipline at an accredited college or university in the United States.

“Zillion values curiosity and a courage to challenge the status quo, and Ms. Garcia has embraced these guiding principles,” said Adam Black, Managing Director at Zillion. “We are overjoyed to award this year’s Zillion Women in STEM Scholarship to Ms. Garcia, and look forward to watching her excel and apply her talents in computer science while continuing to mentor others.”

We love the wide range of jewelry metals today that give consumers tremendous options for creating the exact piece of their dreams. Metal alloys are some of the more exciting variations for imaginative jewelry designers to work with. These options better reflect the tastes of a client and help them to personalize their jewelry, making it truly unique to them. Natural Alloy One topic catching my eye at the moment is a rare and naturally occurring metal alloy – electrum. This word, electrum may be uncommon to modern society, but it’s a Latin word derived from the Greek electron mentioned in the Odyssey referring to a metallic substance consisting of gold alloyed with silver. Electrum was usually called white gold in antiquity. But more accurately it was described as pale gold since ...
