(NEW YORK) – The Plumb Club is pleased to present a retail-learning opportunity with a presentation from Anglo American and Platinum Guild International, USA (PGI).

The virtual event will be held in the Jewelers Resource Center Auditorium on Tuesday, October 29th at 1pm (EDT) and is open to the entire jewelry industry.

Unknown to many retailers, and instrumental for sales associates “telling the story of platinum”, the metal has applications across many business sectors aside from jewelry, including automotive and medical uses. Further, there are a number of myths about platinum’s manufacturing and wear. In this valuable webinar, attending retailers will learn about the many uses of platinum, its benefits, and some of the newest innovations of the metal.

According to a PGI write-up, attending retailers will be treated to the following program:

Join Benny Oeyen from Anglo American for a journey of discovery that will explore some of the applications of the world’s most precious metal, including platinum’s role in the green economy and its impact on people and the environment. He’ll also discuss responsibly mined platinum and introduce you to Inoveo Platinum – a new platinum alloy that may change the way we make platinum jewelry – for the better!

Benny Oeyen is Anglo American’s Executive Head of market development for PGMs (platinum group metals) and has responsibility for Anglo American’s industry-leading program stimulating new and sustainable demand for platinum group metals. This includes Anglo American’s work supporting the hydrogen economy and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), where platinum is a critical enabler and, of course, in the jewelry sector. Before taking up his current role in 2017, he held a number of key positions in the automotive industry where his specialty lay in strategy and marketing.
