(DALLAS) – The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) is the recipient of a $10,000 donation from the New York Gemstone Association (NYGA) to support its promotional efforts in the colored gemstone industry. The donation is a rare move among jewelry associations and reflects AGTA’s powerful initiatives and enhanced promotional efforts over the past few years.

Alan Hackman, President of the NYGA, says the reason is AGTA’s “vital role in advancing professionalism, ethics, and education within the colored gemstone trade.”
“Their work helps strengthen the foundation of our industry and promotes the highest standards for dealers, jewelers, and consumers alike,” he continues. “The NYGA is pleased to contribute support to that mission and to the continued advancement of the global gemstone community.”
AGTA Board President Bruce Bridges and AGTA CEO John W. Ford, Sr., shared their appreciation for the donation in a joint statement.
“We want to convey our sincere gratitude to the NYGA for their generous donation to AGTA in supporting our efforts to promote natural-colored gemstones and natural and cultured Pearls.
