EP 111_From Family Dreams to Luxury Legacy: Weston Jewelers’ 25-Year Journey

From Family Dreams to Luxury Legacy: Weston Jewelers' 25-Year JourneyReading Time: 2 minutes

What does it take to build a jewelry empire from a modest storefront into one of South Florida’s premier luxury destinations? In this inspiring episode of Pearls of Wisdom, host Guy Pineda sits down with Ed Dikes and Danni Dikes of Weston Jewelers to explore the remarkable story behind their family-owned business and its upcoming 25th anniversary milestone.

Founded in 2001, Weston Jewelers began as a small 1,096-square-foot store and has since grown into a thriving luxury jewelry destination with multiple locations and an ambitious flagship project planned for Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale. Ed shares how perseverance, vision, and a willingness to keep moving forward helped the company navigate challenges ranging from launching just before the events of September 11 to the sleepless nights that come with building a growing business.

Listeners will also hear from Danni Dikes, who transitioned from a successful career in broadcast journalism to become the company’s Marketing Manager. Danni discusses how innovation, social media, AI-powered marketing, and data-driven strategies are helping elevate the family business while preserving the personal relationships that have fueled its success for decades.

The conversation highlights the importance of treating customers and employees like family, building an all-star team, and developing lasting partnerships with prestigious brands such as Rolex and Cartier. Ed also shares valuable advice for fellow jewelers on growth, leadership, persistence, and why “not now” should never be mistaken for “never.”

Packed with entrepreneurial wisdom, family-business insights, and lessons on creating a lasting legacy, this episode is a powerful reminder that success is built one step at a time. Tune in and discover why the future of Weston Jewelers is brighter than ever, and why you won’t want to miss this inspiring conversation!

I just got home from the Atlanta Jewelry Show, and thought I’d share some thoughts and discoveries with everyone from the show. Here’s what you missed if you haven’t been to a trade show in a while. First and foremost… They are fun! The really cool thing about a trade show is the interaction with your longtime friends and business associates. I’ve got friends in this business that I’ve known for 43 years. Many of those friends I’ve only seen face-to-face 43 times – always at a trade show . A jewelry trade show is a hands-on experience. Most days I’m at the point that I don’t want to look at another piece of jewelry on a phone or computer screen. I don’t care how many pics you take, and how many angles you shoot it from, you never really capture the essence of the piece. Being real jewelers , we know the only way to evaluate, and assess, a piece’s true quality and workmanship is to hold it in our hands. A jewelry trade show is a full blown, hands-on, experience. We’ve all bought jew...
